information may be helpful before installing/upgrading.
Bibliotech Version 8
Installation Prerequisites
- The BiblioTECH
"Server SETUP" executable - (download
below)
- A “current” BiblioTECH License Key
- (contact
admin@bibliotech.com.au if necessary)
- A server with the
recommended
hardware requirements as follows:

minimum video settings: Super VGA (800x600) x 64K colours

requirements are common to all systems (both clients and server)

BiblioTech
can run on a primary or backup domain controller if necessary but
running BiblioTech on a stand-alone server will provide optimal performance

If you load
your server with multiple tasks in addition to Bibliotech (eg.
Exchange Server, Proxy Server, other server applications or use client
applications on the server) and do not ensure that Bibliotech has adequate resources
(RAM, hard disk space, processing power) then
you will compromise Bibliotech’s ability to provide adequate
performance.

Bibliotech
is only supported on Windows 2000, XP, 2003 Server and Vista 32 / 64 on
Intel or compatible machines running directly on the hardware.

Latest
service pack should be installed

ensure that for each user profile, settings are:
- COUNTRY – AUSTRALIA
- PAPER SIZE – A4
- Any Firewalls
installed on the server, the clients or the network configured to allow
clients to communicate with the server

- A Windows
“Administrative Level” UserID & password
- The Server
operating system clock adjusted to the correct TimeZone and to the correct
Date/Time

The installation and/or upgrade for
Version 8 is quite different to previous versions of Bibliotech. Please
read and carefully follow the instructions in the installation
guide (or technical portion of the manual), both available below.
