Start the BiblioTECH Client on the server computer and check
operations

If NOT connecting, check local network/firewall settings.
- Check that a client
computer can contact the BiblioTECH Server via the network …
Check that the client computer can PING the BiblioTECH server by its
IP address. -
If NOT, check local network
- Check the BiblioTECH
IP/port communications …
Check BiblioTECH communications using BT8PING
(refer below)

If not, check local network/firewall settings.
- Check the BiblioTECH
client on another computer …
Check BiblioTECH communications using BT8PING
(refer below) Start the BiblioTECH Client and test each module

If BT8PING responds OK but the
BiblioTECH Client does not connect
Re-install the client on the client computer.
BT8ping Utility
This utility can be used to
check communications between a client computer and the BiblioTECH
Server.
- Copy the utility to the
client.
- Open a command window
- Change directory to where
the utility was copied
- Type bt8ping
BT8serverIPaddress
eg.
bt8ping
127.0.0.1
If
the server is operating and can be reached, the response will be similar
to
BT8ping :
